Rito's / Our Story

Food was how the family gathered.

The Rito's story runs from Sicily to Cleveland, from the bakery years to the family table, and now into the next chapter of Rito's.

Our story

A trade became a family tradition.

In the 1960s, Santo Rito brought his Sicilian baking trade into Rito's in Cleveland. Over time, Rito's became known for foods people carried into birthdays, weddings, holidays and ordinary weekends.

What people remember

Independent Cleveland coverage remembers the bakery for cannoli, cassata, angel wings, nut horns, bakery pizza and the Giant Cannoli. Those foods matter because they point to something larger: generations of people gathering around food.

Continuity

The bakery is history. Rito's is current.

The bakery operation has ended. This site preserves that history while the current Rito's family food brand moves into its next chapter with Pomodoro.

The real secret was family.
